Education and Certifications: BA piano performance, with Distinction, California State University San Jose, AA Music Dean’s Scholar, Allan Hancock College, Santa Maria, California. University of Guam, Piano performance major. Professional National Certification awarded “Professional National Certified Teacher of Music” from Music Teachers’ National Association (MTNA) and “Nationally Certified Teacher of Music” from American College of Musicians (ACM)

Teaching and Professional Experience: Over 40 years as an independent piano teacher. Nearly 20 years of experience as a private music school owner, director and teacher. Associate faculty member in the music department at Allan Hancock College since 1994, teaching class piano and music fundamentals to students enrolled at AHC. Adjunct music faculty member at Cerro Coso College in Lake Isabella California. I have taught music for Oak Valley Elementary School in Buellton for 3 years and provided artist-in-residence classes and presentations for Lompoc Unified School District, as well as serving as the choral accompanist for Lompoc Middle School and Academy of Our Lady of Guam High School, La Purisima Catholic Church Queen of Angels Catholic Church choral accompanist on both piano and organ. In 2009, I was invited to adjudicate piano students in Harbin, China for an International Piano Festival.

Piano Adjudicator: Active memberships and continues to serve as a piano adjudicator for music teaching organizations such as Music Teacher’s Association of California (MTAC) Certificate of Merit Program, Music Teachers’ National Association (MTNA) Music enrichment program, Central Coast Music Teachers’ Association (CCMTA) Music events, International College of Music Educators (ICME) Music adjudications program, National Federation of Music Clubs (NFMC) piano events and National Guild of Piano Teachers’ (NGPT) yearly adjudications. Member of American Federation of Teachers (AFT)

Student Awards and Scholarships: Many of my students have participated in scholarships for cash awards and have been the recipients of Lompoc Music Association scholarships, Santa Maria Arts Council Scholarships, Santa Ynez Valley Arts Outreach Scholarships and Music Teachers’ Association of California scholarships.

Lompoc School of Music: Founded and established in August 1999. I employ experienced and qualified teachers for the purpose of providing exceptional private music instruction to the community of Lompoc and its surrounding areas in the instruction of piano, violin, voice, guitar, saxophone, trumpet, flute, voice and drums.

The teaching of music is my passion. I sincerely welcome students of all ages and levels.
